“Too many people spend money they haven’t earned, to buy things they don’t want, to impress people they don’t like.
– Will Rogers

Peer pressure is the influence exerted by a peer group or an individual, encouraging other individuals to change their attitudes, values, or behaviors in order to conform to group norms.

We all want to fit in don’t we?  From childhood we were taught to be part of the crowd and to mimic our lives after those around us

I see people spending a lot of money on all sorts of things they don’t want, need, or even care about because they don’t have a compelling reason not to.  It becomes a habit based on the need to conform, the pressure from media and our cultural messages to buy, buy, buy.

Having clear goals and a vision for your life creates the motivation, the carrot, the incentive to work harder and smarter to achieve the lifestyle that you want.

This week, think about what goals and dreams you have that can motivate you toward changing your habits.  What compelling reason do you have to do something differently?
